12.05.2012:

Got some great news! Our little Mambo will be a father soon :-) In about a months there will be puppies after Mambo in Kennel Centio (www.kennel-centio.dk). The two should have some lovely puppies - I already can't wait to go see them :-)

Got these new shots of Amazonite Lotus Esprit (Clio & Jaques) aka Phoenix 21 months old. Another Clio-carbon copy!

06.05.2012:

There was a big international show in Roskilde weekend. Unfortunately we couldn't go, but Soloux was shown and did very well :-) She came in 3rd in the junior class with excellent both days and a great critique. She only 10 months old and still very much a teenager to look at, so we are very happy with this result :-)

"Correct bite, very good type, medium size, strong bone and body for this age, not wide skull but correct proportyions, croop down, cobby, correct movement and caracter".
3.excl. junior female.

"10 months old female,good size, acceptable substans, good scull with well set ears, good stop, good nose area, broad jaw, excellent neck, still a bit narrow in the front, good top- and underline, a bit low set tail, good angulations, good movement for her age, good fur, good temper". 3. excl. junior female.

Santos' daughter Dark Diana was also shown and came in as best female puppy both Saturday and Sunday! Unfortunately no pics of her, but here is a few of her sister Dodo, that I think are very cute!! Both are looking promising :-)

Time flies without much happening on the dogue-front here... However we have been really busy the last week as our house was put on the market a week ago... Within that week we had to show it 5 times which means cleaning up big time, getting all the dogues in the car and driving off for about 30-60 minutes each time. So we hope the house will sell fast!! But not all who book an appointment are really that serious...we have the feeling that some are just bored and go for the heck of it :-/

The past 3-4 weeks has been tough for Mambo. Sienna went into heat and then Clio followed a week after. Poor Mambo completely lost his appetite and I think he has lost about 5 kilos. As he is not a heavy weight to begin with it shows and we are working on getting the weight back on.

A few newpictures in the gallery. See them here.

Got these wonderful pictures of Santos' new puppies! Soooo cute!!!  3 girls and a boy :-) They are from kennel Centio www.kennel-centio.dk

14.04.2012:

I got these amazing digital paintings from Betina! Needless to say I absolutely love them:-) Thank you so much Betina, you are a true artist!

Since we are not having puppies in our kennel this time around we are excited about the pups that the Amazonite boys are producing - Matrix recently became a daddy in the States to this beautiful bunch;

... And within a few days Santos will be a daddy again in our friend Mariannes kennel.

Otherwise no major news from here.

07.04.2012:

To our great dissapointment J'adore does not have any puppies :-( We decided to do different bloodtests to see if there was a reason for this, but everything came back perfectly normal. So why she has been empty a few times now is a mystery. Yet we can see the same thing happens to a lot of other breeders, so I guess it's just tough luck. We were very excited about this breeding so of course this sucks!! We will breed her again in her next heat. She looks better than ever though - added a few new pics in her gallery. See them here.

That means that we will put the house up for sale and if we are able to sell it we will move to a country place. We have found one, but we wont buy it until the old one has sold, so we are hoping it will happen fast. However these days it's hard to say what will happen. So we are spending this Easter getting the house ready for the photographer.

Added a few new pictures in Mambos gallery. See them here. If everything goes well he'll be a daddy soon in kennel Centio.

25.03.2012:

Spring is definitely in the air. The weather is a lot warmer now and all we need now is the plants and grass to grow... Tried to take some pictures of the gang and couldn't help noticing that our garden look like s***!  A few more weeks will probably help a lot. Worked in the garden for about an hour today and now I'm completely hammered! Dogues look great but the back ground leaves a lot to be desired. See them here

J'adore will be scanned on the 3rd of April. If she's empty we are thinking about putting up the house for sale and move to a country estate in stead. Or well we have decided on doing it, so it's a matter of timing. If she's having puppies we will have to wait another 3 months before putting our house on the market - if not we will do it right away :-) So either way Monday the 3rd will be a good day; puppies or new country house!

Otherwise I can't say that a whole lot happens here. Life is nice and quiet here and the days just pass by :-) Storm seems to just love the dogues and they are so incredibly great with him. Here's is J'adore and Storm.

Just a little picture update from here...

Soloux aka Maude was entered at a small local show and did well ending up as BIS 5 in the puppy class.

Ryan and J'adore came back from Poland a few days ago. Ryan was not the least bit dissapointed when he met Cupidon - he's even better in real life than he is in pictures and had the most wonderful personality. Of course we hope this breeding is succesful, but if it isn't he's definitely one we will use again on another female. Otherwise there is not much new to tell from here.

02.03.2012:

J'adore is now on her way to Poland where she will be bred to the lovely Cupidon des Enfant du Eve. J'adore went into heat 6 weeks ealier than we expected and messed our planning up a bit! I (Karen) was really excited about visiting Kennel Mercator i Poland as I think they have produced amazing dogues and have some very intersting bloodlines. But with my new job start I couldn't possibly ask for time off within my first week, so in stead Ryan left for Poland this morning. It's a 16,5 hour drive from our house each way, so it's quite a ride... Hopefully all goes well and if we are lucky there will be puppies in the beginning of May. However with this breed nothing is a given in terms of breeding and the odds can be hard, so you never know... All I can say is that we hope and pray! Here some new pics of the lover-boy;

22.02.2012:

I've been very busy lately because I'm starting a new job in March, so I've been slacking off a bit with the updates on the web.site.

Last Sunday I went to Fredericia International show with Mambo with a total of 29 dogues entered. That is quite a few compared to how many entries you usually get. Mambo was entered in open male for the first time and came in 4th with the following critique; " Male of correct size and type, typical in bone and substans, nice head with correct scull and muzzle, typical expression, nice skin markings, correct front and feet, well developed body, correct rear angulation, needs to improve topline, very nice color and condition, sufficient power and drive in move" (Excellent. 4th).

Soloux had her debut in the puppy class and came in 2nd. Great to see her again and I also got to see Samba again. Unfortunately something went wrong with her bloodtesting and paperwork, new rules about rabia etc. so to cut a long story short she needs to stay for another 5 months before she can leave to Sydney. She moved in with Vicky and Soloux and will live there until she can travel. I got some pictures of the two outside and at 7 months of age I will be the first to say that they are both at that very "ugly-duckling-phase", but very cute though...

New pics in Soloux' gallery. See them here.

J'adore took us by surprise by going into heat almost 2 months earlier than planned!!! That means that we will be leaving for Poland in about 10 days or so... If the weather allows it, that is. So far we are hopefull, but we need to look into the situation and if there is too much snow then we will have to look into a plan. Stay tuned..

Mambo is just so great with Storm! Gentle, patient and wonderful and he seems to enjoy being around Storm. The feeling is very mutual :-)

.

Last but not least is a pictures of the beautiful Montana;

29.01.2012:

We got some great news from Kris in the States that Matrix just got his final points and is now AKC Champion at only 22 months! Huge congrats to you both - we couldn't be prouder!!

Otherwise no major news from here...

J'adores is waiting for the cat to come down :-)                                                                          Sevilla (right) and her daughter J'taime

                               Soloux is a lanky teenager in the snow.......

12.01.2012:

Finally I got my hands on some new pictures of our youngest girl, Soloux, who is owned bt us, but lives with another familiy. She's 6 months old now and looking a bit funny as they do at that age, but all in all I'm very happy with her. She still looks a lot like Clio and I love her color. As I'm sure we all know I would have taken a billion pictures of her by now if she lived here, but now I just have to be happy everytime some pics are sent to me which luckily is quite often :-) However little "Miss Full Speed ahead" never stands still and is hard to shoot unless she's sleeping :-) Thanks to Marianne & Vicky for these picture :-) Soloux or Maude as she is called now will be entered in her first show in February and probably will be shown quite a bit from then on.

Speaking of shows I will be going to Crufts this year with J'adore who qualified last year the day she also became Danish Champion. So she will be entered in the champion class. J'adore is not overly fond of shows so we don't show her much anymore - just special occasions and since we have never been to Crufts we consider it to be one of those occasions :-) So in about 50 days we are heading over to England!

All the paperwork for J'adores next breeding with Cupidon has been done now so when she's in heat in April we will drive all the way to Poland.

01.01.2012:

A new year has begund and well, with a 1-year old in the house hold I will reveal that we did not have a wild and crazy new years eve this year. In stead we had a nice quiet night with family and friends and were home not too late - and up early as our little man is quite the morning person :-)

Unlike the last two years where we had heavy snow, ice and what not from november/december until April I'm FULLY 100% enjoying this years winther that - so far - has been snow free! I (Karen) spent the last day of 2011 on the beach with all the dogues and a friend and her 3 dogues. It was freezing, but sunny and beautiful and the perfect way to say good bye to a great year. The dogues LOVED it and was very tired afterwards. See the pictures from that trip here.

Mambo is not a big eater as it is and two females in heat in a row cost him 5 kilos! We are trying to get them back on before we start showing him again. It's not as easy as it sounds and a lot of times he just sniffs his food and walks away. We are adding a little extra every now and then to make it a bit more interesting and sometimes it works - sometimes it doesn't. Our 3 females are just opposite and would eat and eat if we let them.

I think that was all the news from here this time around. Nothing much is going on here in the dogue department, but we will be back soon with hopefully more exciting news :-)

The pics below are of Mambo and Storm. The two seem to have some kind of bond and Mambo loves to be around him. He's extremely sweet, gentle and patient with Storm - it's just adorable to watch them together.
